The Spanish Steps

The Spanish Steps serve as a median, not only between the piazza and church but also between two ground floor planes and in this case two countries. The Spanish steps connects the French church Trinita Del Monti to Piazza Di Spagna. The internal and external curvilinear hidden geometries within the site plan. Trinita Del Monti Trinita Del Monti used to be a small chapel that was changed into a church by King Louis XII. It was completed in 1585 by Pope Sixtus V. Piazza De Spagna t was named after the Spanish Embassy of the Holy Sea . The area was considered Spanish territory during the 17th century. It contains a fountain designed by Lorenzo Bernini and constructed by Pope Urban VIII. The design was inspired by the tevere flood in 1598 there was a small boat that remained after the water subsided.The steps are the largest steps in Europe consisting of 137 steps over 12 different flights.
